GENERAL MANUFACTURING
Our pieces are Bench Made and not manufactured in bulk. As a small business, we work on each piece individually. This allows us to construct the pieces accordingly for each order to satisfy the request of each customer.
FRAME CONSTRUCTION
Exclusive Custom Interiors frame construction consists of a combination of hardwood (alder) and softwood (pine) sourced from sustainable forests within the United States. The wood is kiln dried to prevent warping or cracking and is backed with a lifetime warranty. Joints are reinforced with corner blocking, glue, screws and staples. The wood is then padded all the way around before upholstery begins. Heavy gauge steel wires provide the sinuous spring suspension which reinforce the seating. We hand screw in our sinuous springs, rather than merely stapling them as other manufacturers might do. This way, it does not sag while being sturdier and lasting longer. Our seats are composed of high resilience foam wrapped in a polyester batting also known as dacron. Back cushions and side pillows are filled with polyester fiber fill.
CUSHIONS
For our seat cushions, our standard is 2.0 high density foam with a dacron wrap around it. We can order the standard 2.0 foam as soft, medium, firm or extra firm. These products are Fire Retardant and contain chemicals that make them so. Back cushions come with fiber fill as our standard. Upgraded fills are optional.
Foam density correlates to the volume of a cubic foot of foam material. The higher density is due to the higher rubber content creating a quality cushion with resilience. Each foam density is available in different levels of firmness such as soft, medium, firm and extra firm. A foam’s lifespan is primarily dependent on the density and thickness of the foam. Note: a cushion's firmness has very little effect on the expected lifespan.
FABRICS
We purchase fabrics from a variety of vendors, so materials used as well as regions of origin will vary.
LEGS
We carry stock legs that are ordered in bulk, but custom legs can be ordered at an upcharge.
